18 Storey, 67 Unit Serviced Apartment Building.
This project consists of a new eighteen-storey serviced apartment building at the rear of the existing Victorian terrace house. The house will operate as a lobby and service area for the sixty-seven one- and two-bedroom apartments. The retention and refurbishment of the existing terrace house ensures that this one remaining building from the late nineteenth century survives to locate the historic context for this part of Albert Road. The plan of the new building includes four apartments around a tight core, with a glazed egress stair bringing light into the lift lobby. There are two studio apartments, a one-bedroom and a two-bedroom apartment per floor. The project has planning approval but is currently on hold.
