The ideas for the Pine Avenue Apartments followed on from this corner site project, which is rectangular in shape and has one long side on a laneway and its rear facing north. The proposal was to create one-bedroom, open-plan units on the first floor, with entry and car parking from the lane. Above were to be two-storey courtyard units accessed from a pedestrian-stepped internal street on the opposite side of the lane.
